“It all started one evening after a party at a friend’s house, when I was 28. A few minutes after I got home, I collapsed on the floor, lifeless. My partner resuscitated me and called the emergency services. I’d just had ventricular fibrillation.
After a number of tests carried out by the electrophysiologist cardiologist who treated me at the time, we realized that the heart rhythm disorders were coming from the left ventricle. It was at that moment that I brutally discovered heart rhythm disorders… and the life that went with it.
The German medical team treating me at the time contacted the Liryc Institute for medical advice. Dr. Mélèze Hocini took charge of me and performed a cardiac ablation using a technique developed by the Liryc teams, a technique now used worldwide.
Today, I feel lucky to be able to say that this story is behind me. This is only possible thanks to the support of the Liryc community, which gives the Institute the means to invent innovative therapeutic solutions to reduce heart rhythm disorders.
