Several specialized associations support the needs of carers. For the most part, these are general associations that help the relatives of patients suffering from a variety of illnesses.
Created in 2003, the Association Française des Aidants campaigns for recognition of the role and place of carers in society. One of the association’s distinguishing features is its network of members involved in initiatives for carers (Carers’ Cafés, Carers’ Health Workshops, Carers’ Training).
Founded in 2008, La Maison des Aidants provides help and support to carers through a range of initiatives (coaching, training, helpline, guidance, sharing of personal stories, etc.). It also offers training courses for professionals involved in supporting carers.
La Compagnie des Aidants supports carers by providing them with solutions to better cope with their role and keep them informed. It also campaigns for institutions to recognize the essential part they play. It offers training, podcasts and a self-help community with a discussion forum to bring carers together.
The Je t’Aide collective, created in 2015, has three main missions: promote the rights of carers, improve their visibility and transform society. It also features testimonials, interviews with experts and podcasts to support carers in their role.
CASA, the Collectif Associatif de Soutien aux Aidants, has been supporting carers since 2010 through a range of initiatives (holidays and activities, training, discussion groups, etc.).
Ma Boussole Aidants is a digital service that centralizes the information and help available to carers and their relatives (personalized solutions, financial aid simulators, testimonials, events, support groups, etc.).
Founded in 2008, Avec Nos Proches provides a telephone helpline for carers to support, inform and guide them according to their needs, and to raise awareness of carers’ issues among the general public.
